Lesson Details

Often cited in professional pipers’ ‘top tunes’ list Patrick Og is one of the the real masterpieces. Technically challenging while strongly melodic, it is a piece heard frequently in competition at the top levels and well worth having a working understanding of.

Glenn Brown recently looked at this tune in his Level 1 series on ‘High G’ piobaireachd. This lesson, as with the others in this series, is more tailored for those with little knowledge of piobaireachd. Take a look at Glenn’s lesson if you require more advanced advice on how to phrase and express this tune.

You can find the score for this in the Kilberry Book and the Piobaireachd Society Book 3.
