Lesson Details

This 2/4 march composed by the hugely influential Pipe Major William Ross, was written for a fellow soldier in WW1. Take a look at this interesting history on the BBC’s website. The score used in this lesson can be downloaded here, via pipetunes.ca. It can also be found in the Scots Guards Collection Vol.1 and Willie Ross’s Book 1. Technically the tune could be classed as one of the easier 4-parted 2/4 marches.
