Lesson Details
This battle was fought between the MacDonalds and the MacLeods and dates back to the end of the C16th. The battle was a bloody one where the MacLeod’s were defeated by the MacDonald’s and two of the MacLeod leaders, John and Roderick, were killed. A cross stands today, in Skye, to mark the spot where Roderick fell. This is the second part of two lessons.
The score for this tune can be found the Piobaireachd Society Book 2 and the Kilberry Book.
